Leaks are bad things... leaks are good things...

Bottle of Blog has a hilarious recap of Dubya's antics.

Shotgunfreude (n.) - 1. Delight experienced at the unraveling of antidemocratic forces.

2. Thoughts of a pro-democracy Minnesota attorney.

Portmanteau of "shotgun-incident-related schadenfreude."

see e.g. The Imperial (Vice) Presidency: "The shooting could hardly be a better metaphor for Cheney. It neatly packages his faulty judgment, insularity and arrogance in a story that is not cataclysmic on its own terms but will prove hard to forget."

P.S. hot tip: "schadenfreude" doesn't have anything to do with Freud. Nor does Shotgunfreude.

about shotgunfreude:

I work as an attorney at a private firm. I started blogging out of frustration with the Republican government's anti-American, anti-science, anti-democratic agenda. It was Cheney shooting his lawyer buddy in the face, and trying to be secretive about it afterward (as with everything), that finally convinced me, these guys are doomed to go down in flames, and this is too great not to make fun of them on the way down. I experienced shotgun incident related schadenfreude. Thus, "shotgunfreude".
